Sunshine Coast Wedding Music + DJs
Love Note Music is a collective of Sunshine Coast musicians and DJs, with a sound rooted in folk, blues, soul, roots and alt-country.
Our live acts range from acoustic duos and trios through to four and five-piece bands, alongside DJ-only and live + DJ options.
Most of our musicians are singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists, and that comes through in the way we approach covers. We’re not interested in recreating every song note-for-note. We work with the strengths of each line-up and put our own sound around songs people already know and love.
OUR SOUND
Weddings need a fairly broad repertoire. You’re playing to different generations, different tastes and people who may not have much musically in common.
Our song lists reflect that.
We play music from artists including Chris Stapleton, John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, Vance Joy, The Beatles, The Lumineers, Paul Simon, Johnny Cash, Zach Bryan and Luke Combs, alongside soul, country, folk, indie and familiar classics.
Some songs stay fairly close to the original. Others change considerably depending on who is playing them.
Our line-ups can include acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica, lap steel, violin, saxophone, bass, drums, percussion and keys, giving each combination of musicians its own sound.
That variety also gives us plenty of room to move between quieter acoustic material and a much bigger live set without losing the character of the music.
LIVE MUSIC, DJ — OR BOTH
Live music is available as a duo, trio, four or five-piece band.
Our DJs can also be booked as a standalone DJ package, or combined with live music if you want both across the day.
For DJ sets, we’ll work from the music you already love, your must-plays and the things you definitely don’t want to hear, while leaving enough room for the DJ to respond to the dance floor on the night.
You can also add live sax to your DJ set if you want a live element on the dance floor without booking a full band.
If you’re combining live music and DJ, we manage the handover between the two as part of the booking.
